ABC's

As most mothers out there, I try not to allow my children to watch too much television. I want my kids to be able to use their imagination and play on their own without needing constant entertainment. There are multiple studies out there stating the negative outcomes of too much television watching. However, there are sometimes you just need the TV. If I do not get up early enough to take a shower before the kids wake up, I will pacify them with a movie to keep them busy and out of trouble. Well, attention all mothers of toddlers... I found a video that is great. It is called the Letter Factory by Leap Frog. My 2 and 3 year old have both learned all of the letters and their sounds. They have sang the ABC song for awhile now, but this video taught them phonics. They love the video and it has been a great learning tool. I highly recommend it!!!

Kim, I totally agree on the TV thing. We set a limit on Celeste for her time watching as well. The rule we try to stick with is one show on Saturdays only. Life is way to short to spend it staring into a box! The movie she usually watches is the one you bought her for Christmas. She has probably watched it 5 or 6 times and knows all the sounds letters make. Thanks for the great gift!

kim,

i too just got the ABC video for kelly! she has known the abc song for quite a while now, but with this video she had (mostly) mastered the phonics behind it.

i heartily recommed the video as well! pretty soon cole and brendan will be able to exchange letters (or e-mails) with their aunt kelly!

Okay, FIRST of all, isn't it interesting that Ben NEVER leaves comments but chose this post of all posts to comment on? Second of all, isn't it ironic that while Ben is making fun of my phonics he misspelled two words? "Recommend and Brenden"?
Nice work Ben. :)

So, Cole and Brendan are gonna be genius babies? Where I, on the other hand, am not sure if I even spelled genius right.

Korey,
You spelled genius correctly, but you misspelled Brenden's name. :)
Kim,
We are experience some withdrawal here in Kentucky. We need to see some more pictures of our precious nephews and niece.

All I wanted for Valentine's Day was to see a couple of new pictures on your blog of my three sweethearts: Cole, Brenden, and Brookie-Baby. And I didn't get it. :(
